Privacy Policy

Your privacy

I take your privacy seriously. This policy explains what personal information I may collect when you contact or work with Selah, why I use it and how I look after it.

Who is responsible for your information?

Selah is run by Mandy Young. If you have any questions about your personal information or this privacy policy, you can contact me at thinkselah@gmail.com.

What information might I collect?

Depending on how you contact or work with me, I may collect:

  • your name and email address;

  • information you choose to include in a message or email;

  • information needed to arrange and provide sessions or other services;

  • payment and transaction information;

  • your email address if you have chosen to receive occasional emails from me.

If you are considering psychedelic work with me, we will also discuss relevant aspects of your physical and mental health so that we can consider whether this work is appropriate for you. These conversations take place privately and psychedelic Zoom calls are not recorded.

How I use your information

I use personal information only where I have a reason to do so, including to:

  • respond to enquiries;

  • arrange and provide sessions, courses or other services you have requested;

  • communicate with you about our work together;

  • process and keep appropriate records of payments;

  • meet legal, accounting or regulatory obligations;

  • send occasional emails about things such as new meditations, courses or Selah offerings where you have agreed to receive them or where I am otherwise permitted to do so.

Depending on the circumstances, I rely on consent, fulfilling or taking steps towards a contract with you, legal obligations, or my legitimate interests in running Selah appropriately as the legal basis for using your information.

Where health information needs to be processed, additional protections apply because health information is treated as special category data under UK data-protection law.

Zoom sessions and recordings

My sessions take place online using Zoom. Sessions are not normally recorded.

Occasionally, a regular 1:1 client may ask for their session to be recorded for their own use. This will only happen where it has been specifically requested and agreed beforehand. The recording will not be used for any other purpose.

Psychedelic consultation, preparation and integration Zoom calls are never recorded.

Who might process your information?

I don't sell your personal information.

I use trusted services where necessary to run Selah, which may include Wix for the website, Google/Gmail for email, Zoom for online sessions, and banks or payment providers such as PayPal or Stripe for payments.

These organisations process information according to their own privacy and security arrangements. Some service providers may process information outside the UK and use appropriate safeguards for international transfers where required.

How long do I keep your information?

I only keep personal information for as long as it is reasonably needed for the purpose for which it was collected, to provide my services, or to meet legal, accounting or regulatory requirements.

I don't routinely keep detailed case notes about 1:1 clients. Any brief working notes I make to help prepare exercises or homework are kept only for as long as they are useful and are disposed of securely when no longer needed.

Occasional emails

If you have chosen to receive occasional emails from Selah, you can change your mind at any time by contacting me at thinkselah@gmail.com or by using any unsubscribe option provided.

I won't add you to a marketing list simply because you have contacted me through the website.

Your rights

Depending on the circumstances, UK data-protection law gives you rights over your personal information. These can include asking to see the information I hold about you, asking for inaccurate information to be corrected, asking for information to be deleted or its use restricted, and objecting to certain uses of your information.

Where I rely on your consent, you can withdraw that consent at any time.

If you have a concern about how your information has been handled, please contact me first so that I can try to help. You also have the right to make a complaint to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
